Position Overview:
This caseworker will provide child-specific and/or targeted recruitment including but not limited to social media blitz, public campaigns, cold calling, and advertising for family foster and treatment foster care program. This caseworker will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and hosting community awareness, orientation, training and speaking events to recruit resource families. This caseworker will work closely with potential families to assist them through the licensing process in addition to support before, during and after placement occurs. May be required to complete activities or home study assessments to determine family’s ability to become approved resource as foster, treatment, or kin. *Assessor verification preferred as required by ODJFS. May be completed on the job. Prefer experience with public speaking, training, outreach and cold calling, marketing campaigns, and interactive business social media or website monitoring. This position requires a fastpaced, self-starter with ambitious drive to think outside the box to remove barriers to successful recruitment and innovative outreach efforts. This includes arranging meetings or trainings in the evening and/or weekend. May require non-traditional working hours during a 40-hour work week.
Minimum Qualifications:
We require that an applicant must meet at least the following minimum requirements for the Social Services Worker 2 classification: Applicants must have an associate degree in human services related field. Applicants will be required to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or closely related field within 5 years of taking the position.
We require that an applicant must meet at least the following minimum requirements for the Social Services Worker 3 classification: Completion of course work for graduate degree in the field of social work, sociology or psychology or 6 months paid work experience as a Social Services Worker 2 in a County Welfare Department or Mental Health or Mental Retardation Department or 6 months paid work experience as a social worker providing intensive counseling in a County Children’s Services Board, 169, or 648 Board Agency, or community services agency.
You must be able to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and reference check. You must have a clean driving record and a valid Driver’s License and the candidate may have to drive personal vehicle and must maintain required liability limits.
