Opportunity available now for a dependable individual to join our Water Reclamation Center.
Wastewater Operator I learns to operate wastewater treatment plant by performing job duties under direction of licensed operator; tours plant and ensures plant operates within regulatory guidelines; confers with licensed operators as necessary when collecting samples, observing meters, adding chemicals, recording readings, etc. Pumps primary sludge from settlers to digester; skims scum and grease from settling tanks; replaces chlorine cylinders and regulates as instructed the chemical feed (chlorine, bleach, ferrous, bisulfate, polymer, etc.); starts and stops and assists in making minor repairs to pumps, mixers, motors and equipment. Performs basic laboratory tests; confers with management as necessary to make appropriate adjustments.
Maintains records and prepares reports related to plant operation and activities. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
Performs other duties as required.
Rate of Pay: $20.22/hr Step A
$22.73/hr Step B
$27.08/hr Step C
Shift Details - Afternoons, Sunday/Monday off
