    Job Description
    Maintenance Worker I maintains City parks and grounds; mows, sods, seeds and fertilizes and trims grass, trims weeds and trees; may spray weeds and trees; plants flowers, marks sport fields, etc.; ensures facilities are prepared for public use; assists in repairing drives and walks; removes trees; removes snow and ice from walks and bridges; picks up debris and empties trash containers. Operates tractor, dump truck, trimmers, lawn mower, stump machine, chain saw, and other grounds maintenance equipment in performance of job duties and responsibilities; performs maintenance work on mowers (e.g., changes oil, greases, etc.).
    Constructs and repairs fences, benches, tables and other structures to maintain park appearance and functions. Builds, cleans, maintains and repairs facilities and equipment (e.g., paints, performs basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs, checks and replaces fluids in motorized equipment, erects new equipment, etc.).
                            Rate of Pay:          $15.16/hr Step A
                                                          $17.33/hr Step B
                                                          $20.62/hr Step C
