    WHO WE ARE
    The Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce helps our members SLIDE into Success by offering a variety of professional development, networking events, business expense savings programs and marketing opportunities. Located in Fremont, Ohio, the Chamber boasts a membership of 330+ members while serving all of Sandusky County.
    The Chamber’s innovation with the use of QR Codes led to winning a 2022 Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Communications Excellence Award. We are forward thinking, creative and inclusive in all we do.     Sandusky County is located in Northwest Ohio, 30 minutes from Toledo and 1.5 hours from Cleveland, just south of the shores of Lake Erie.

    OUR MISSION
    The mission of the Sandusky County Chamber is to build partnerships and connections to support and grow member organizations.

    SUMMARY OF POSITION
    The CEO/President of the Sandusky County Chamber is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Chamber. This person shall be innovative, be able to think outside of the box, and be comfortable in-person and on-camera. The CEO/President will work with the Chamber board, committees and Chamber Team to facilitate dynamic opportunities for our members. They will be a champion for businesses from small to large. They must be a results-driven leader who will motivate and coordinate the Chamber Team by being creative, compassionate, and cutting-edge. The CEO/President will have full responsibility and authority to manage and conduct the daily operations and affairs of the Chamber.

    Membership: 335 and growing
    Staff: 1.5 and growing
    Budget: $270,000 and growing
    Chamber Board: 13 from across Sandusky County and its industries
     
    Responsibilities

    • Develop and retain membership
    • Oversight of Finances and preparation of the annual budget
    • Represent the Chamber at community events
    • Promote the image of the Chamber
    • Lead the Chamber office and Team
    • Administer internal programs and external benefit programs
    • Work directly with the Chamber Board and committees
    • Facilitate community development
    • Other duties as assigned by Chamber Board
     
    Preferred knowledge and skills
    • 2-3 years leadership and business management experience
    • Proven track record of successful engagement, partnerships and alliance-building among a diverse range of organizations and businesses
    • Experience recruiting and maintaining volunteers
    • Proven track record in raising funds and developing sponsorships
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
    • Possess and demonstrate high standards of integrity, work ethic, trustworthiness, and personal responsibility
    • Elevated level of energy to lead the organization into the future
    • Proven track record of the ability to lead, collaborate with, empower, support, team, and volunteer members who serve on committees, councils, and in chair positions
    • Highly skilled connector of people, resources, and ideas; a champion of strong community
     
    Education
    • Preferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
