DESCRIPTION:The Chamber and Sandusky County Communities Foundation are teaming up to bring you a virtual Lunch & Learn for Non-Profits! And this time\, we'll actually have lunch! Choose from our pre-selected menu items and pick up your lunch at 818 Club in Fremont between 11:00am and 12:00pm.\n\n\n\nJoin Beth Short and Abigail Jacobs from the Ohio Attorney General?s Charitable Law Section as they discuss the many challenges and changes the COVID-19 situation has brought for Ohio?s charitable sector. The Charitable Law Section has been trying to provide resources aimed at addressing some of the unique issues confronting the charitable sector and has been surveying the community to learn details about the virus?s impact on charities. Sadly\, many won?t survive this period.\n\n\n\nBeth Short\, who handles outreach and education for the Ohio Attorney General's Charitable Law Section\, has spent her career working for and with nonprofit organizations. Her passion for the nonprofit sector is evidenced by her professional and volunteer background working with charities as a staff member\, board member\, consultant and volunteer for large and small organizations. She brings a background in journalism\, legislative and public affairs and training\, complemented by a master?s in business that focused on nonprofit management issues. Her work in the Charitable Law Section focuses on the development of strategies aimed at strengthening the nonprofit sector. She is a graduate of the Ohio State University and Ohio University.\n\n\n\nAbby is an attorney in the Charitable Law Section. She began her work in the section with a focus on civil investigations. She currently focuses on nonprofit transactions and mergers and is a leading expert in the section on charitable registration issues. Abby frequently provides training to charitable organizations about board governance and fiduciary duties and also serves as one of the section's public records attorneys. Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office\, she worked at the Ohio chapter of the Children?s Defense Fund. She is a graduate of The College of Wooster and the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

LOCATION:This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. A confirmation email with a link to the meeting and your ticket for lunch will be sent after registration. For lunch\, please pick up your order between 11 am - 12 pm at 818 Club located at 818 Croghan Street in Fremont. Present your ticket at the counter to pick up your lunch.
