A Virtual OSHA Inspection - Hazard Recognition

This presentation will engage participants through openly communicating identified hazards shown in various workplace photos and discussion on what the risk may be.  Learning to recognize hazards is a skill that all safety professionals need to acquire.  This interactive presentation will provide participants with some tips on how to recognize danger along with some advice to educate and motivate others in their safety journey.  

Speaker: Scott Goodwin
Robert “Scott” Goodwin is the Corporate Safety Manager for SSOE Group, an Architectural, Engineering, Design Build, Procurement and Construction Management firm.  Scott is a Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician and helps support over 1100 employees, in 22 offices and 4 countries providing all Safety services including General Industry, Construction and Mining.  Scott was previously the Director of Safety and Training for the Associated General Contractors of Northwest Ohio and the National Electrical Contractors Association of Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. 
 
Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering from Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia where he was born and raised.  He has been involved in construction safety since 1993 starting with the Division of Safety and Hygiene Bureau of Workers Compensation.  Scott recently retired as a Lieutenant Firefighter with Ballville Township Fire Department and was an active volunteer fireman for 35 years.  He was a member of the Northwest Ohio Urban Search and Rescue, Technical Rescue Team for Region 1, Ohio.  He also has a strong Security background with extensive tactical trainings and is a Private Investigator and Security Officer for RSS.
