SUMMARY:Safety Council Meeting FY24
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our upcoming Safety Council meeting. These monthly meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month at the Neeley Center from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Just a friendly reminder\, members of the safety council are required to attend a minimum of 10 meetings during the fiscal year 2024 to qualify for a rebate on their workers' compensation premium. \n\n\n\nTopic of this meeting: \n\nPre- Diabetes and the Affects on the workforce. \n\n\n\nSpeaker: \nLiz Curry\, MS\, RD\, LD\n\nDiabetes Coordinator\n\nBureau of Health Improvement & Wellness\n\n \n\n\nLiz Curry is a Registered Dietitian and Diabetes Coordinator at the Ohio Department of Health. She currently oversees statewide diabetes prevention and management efforts along with scaling and sustaining both the Diabetes Prevention Program and Diabetes Self-Management Education Program. In addition to her CDC-funded work\, Liz is also responsible for coordinating and developing the Diabetes Action Plan triennial report for the Ohio Legislature and serves as the Chair-Elect for the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors Diabetes Leadership Council. Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Nutrition from Kent State University where she also completed her Dietetic Internship.
