DESCRIPTION:Join us for our upcoming Safety Council meeting. These monthly meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month at the Neeley Center from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Just a friendly reminder\, members of the safety council are required to attend a minimum of 10 meetings during the fiscal year 2026 to qualify for a rebate on their workers' compensation premium.\n\nTopic of this meeting: General Ergonomics\n\n\n	Define ergonomics and musculoskeletal injuries\n	Identify the risk factors of musculoskeletal injuries\n	Identify common solutions to prevent musculoskeletal injuries\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker: Julie Reynolds\n\nJulie has served as an Ergonomics Consultant with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation\, Office of Safety Services\, since January 1999. In this role\, she partners with employers to assist them in reducing musculoskeletal disorders through comprehensive job evaluations and providing potential engineering controls to consider for risk reduction. Her expertise spans diverse environments\, including assembly\, manufacturing\, office settings\, and healthcare. She plays an active role in the BWC Safety Intervention Grant Program\, which provides funding to employers for interventions designed to eliminate or significantly reduce workplace injuries. Additionally\, she has been an authorized OSHA General Industry instructor for more than 16 years. She has delivered OSHA 10- and 30-hour training programs to numerous employees\, supporting both individual and organizational efforts to enhance safety awareness and ensure regulatory compliance.\n\nPrior to working for the Office of Safety Services\, Julie was a Safety Coordinator in a general industry environment for 7 years. She graduated in 1990 from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science Degree through the University College with her focus on Environmental Chemistry.
